Perpustakaan IAIN Kendari menerima kunjungan Direktur Standardisasi dan Akreditasi Perpustakaan dari Perpustakaan Nasional (Perpusnas) pada Kamis (25/5). Kunjungan langsung ke ruang perpustakaan ini dalam rangka visitasi re-akreditasi perpustakaan. Kegiatan ini dihadiri Direktur Standardisasi dan Akreditasi Perpusnas, Drs. Supriyanto, M.Si sekaligus sebagai asesor beserta satu orang asesor Perpusnas, yaitu Drs.Renus Siboro,M.Si dan satu orang moderator dari perpusnas Andi Pargo Simamora, S.Sos.
Wakil Rektor I IAIN Kendari dalam sambutannya menyampaikan bahwa Perpustakaan IAIN Kendari senantiasa berusaha mewujudkan layanan prima bagi pemustaka baik internal maupun eksternal. Oleh karena itu, untuk memperoleh keyakinan bahwa pengelolaan Perpustakaan IAIN Kendari telah mengikuti standar yang ditetapkan, maka Perpustakaan IAIN Kendari mengikuti proses akreditasi. Dengan akreditasi, Perpustakaan IAIN Kendari berharap dapat menjadi lembaga perpustakaan yang memiliki kinerja dan kualitas kegiatan perpustakaan yang diakui dan terpercaya, dan khususnya bagi pemustakanya, jelasnya.
Direktur Standardisasi dan Akreditasi Perpusnas, Drs. Supriyanto,M.Si menjelaskan bahwa tujuan akreditasi perpustakaan adalah untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan masyarakat (pemustaka) terhadap kinerja perpustakaan, serta menjamin konsistensi, kualitas kegiatan perpustakaan yang bersangkutan. Sedangkan manfaat akreditasi bagi perpustakaan yang diakreditasi dapat meningkatkan motivasi lembaga perpustakaan untuk meningkatkan kinerjanya dan khusus untuk sumberdaya manusianya, imbuh Supriyanto.
Tahun ini perpustakaan IAIN Kendari melaksanakan akreditasi dengan 9 komponen dan menjadi PTKI pertama di Indonesia yang melaksanakan akreditasi dengan 9 komponen adapun 9 komponen yaitu koleksi perpustakaan, sarana dan prasarana perpustakaan, pelayanan perpustakaan, tenaga perpustakaan, penyelenggaraan perpustakaan, pengelolaan perpustakaan, inovasi dan kreativitas, tingkat kegemaran membaca, indeks pembangunan literasi masyarakat (komponen pendukung).
Kegiatan visitasi ini dilanjutkan dengan peninjauan ruangan perpustakaan dipandu oleh kepala Perpustakaan, Tilman, S.Sos.,MM . Peninjauan ini sekaligus dalam rangka pengecekan bukti komponen akreditasi. Selanjutnya asesor melakukan verifikasi instrument akreditasi beserta lampiran. Dari hasil tersebut, asesor menyampaikan bahwa Perpustakaan IAIN Kendari telah menyiapkan instrument dan bukti akreditasi secara memadai. Meskipun demikian, terdapat beberapa masukan sebagai saran.
